そろそろ Docker の使いドコロだなというタイミングが来そうなので、表題の通り、以前にインストールしていた Docker Toolbox をアンインストールして Docker for Mac を試してみることにした。
Docker Toolbox をアンインストールする
まず、以前にインストールした Docker Toolbox とさようならする。こういうとこをきちんとやっとかないと、後々「日頃の行い」起因でよからぬことが発生する。
こちらのエントリ で紹介されているように、OSX 用のアンインストールスクリプト が公式の repo にあるので、それを落としてきて実行する。
$ git clone git@github.com:docker/toolbox.git
$ cd toolbox
$ sudo osx/uninstall.sh
Docker for Mac をインストールする
Getting Started with Docker for Mac の手順に従って、stable の方をインストール。簡単。
インストールできたらバージョンを確認。
$ docker --version
Docker version 1.12.0, build 8eab29e
$ docker-compose --version
docker-compose version 1.8.0, build f3628c7
$ docker-machine --version
docker-machine version 0.8.0, build b85aac1
念を入れてきちんとインストールできているか確認。
$ docker run hello-world
Unable to find image 'hello-world:latest' locally
latest: Pulling from library/hello-world
c04b14da8d14: Pull complete

試しに既存のコンテナを起動してみる

docker/whalesay を題材にして基本的な挙動を確認する
とりあえず、run してみる。

続いて、くじらくんがありがたい言葉を発せるようにするために image を改良する。
$ mkdir mydockerbuild
$ cd mydockerbuild
$ touch Dockerfile
チュートリアルには以下のように記載されている。
Open the Dockerfile in a visual text editor like Atom or Sublime, or a text based editor like vi, or nano (https://www.nano-editor.org/).
emacs が候補にないことに若干の悲しみを感じながら、emacs で以下の内容を Dockerfile に描く。
FROM docker/whalesay:latest
RUN apt-get -y update && apt-get install -y fortunes
CMD /usr/games/fortune -a | cowsay
docker/whalesay をベースに、fortunes を追加でインストールしてから cowsay している。
Dockerfile が準備できたので、build する。
$ docker build -t docker-whale .
Sending build context to Docker daemon 2.048 kB

新しく docker-whale ができていることを確認する。
$ docker images

Docker Hub に m0t0k1ch1 というアカウントを登録済み。
先ほど build した docker-whale に m0t0k1ch1/docker-whale という tag をつける。バージョンはとりあえず latest。
$ docker tag d649997c162a m0t0k1ch1/docker-whale:latest
確認する。
$ docker images

で、先ほど tag をつけた image を Docker Hub に push する。

Docker Hub の Repositories に m0t0k1ch1/docker-whale が存在することが確認できたら、一旦、ローカルにある image を削除する。
$ docker rmi -f d649997c162a
消えてるか確認する。
$ docker images
